高一英语读写训练(I)
班级: 姓名: My Life in High School By Martta School started every day at 8:00am. First we would meet in our homeroom. Here, our homeroom teacher would take attendance. Then we would go to our first class—in the US, students move from classroom to classroom and the teachers stay in the same room. We kept our books in lockers, and in between classes we would get our books for the next class. Every year, I took Science, English, Math, French, History and P.E. Then there were also elective classes that you could choose from, like Art History, Psychology, Anatomy, Journalism, etc. We also had art, drama, music and health a few times a week. In my school, the classes were pretty small—in one class, you would have about 15 to 20 people. We only went to school from Monday to Friday and we would have half an hour for lunch, and then school got out at 3:00pm. After school there were many things to do. In the Fall, I was on the Cross Country team and in the Winter and Spring I ran Track. In addition, I was part of Student Council. Student Council is like the student government: there is a president, vice-president, secretary, and other officers who help make decisions and plan activities for students. I also took art classes after school. Then, in the evening, I would do my homework. We usually had about 3 hours of homework a night. When I graduated and got my diploma I was excited to be going to Carleton, but also sad to leave my school and my high school friends. Question: What are some of the similarities and differences between American and Chinese High Schools?
